Connecting to Our Core Values
Mariners Remote Learning is targeted for kindergarten through 8th grade. Due to developmental needs and instructional practices of Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten we highly recommend students attend in-person instruction. Families desiring to enroll in remote learning for Kindergarten will enroll in the program then work directly with the Elementary Principal to coordinate.
Love for Christ
Mariners Remote Learners will be shepherded in spiritual development through:
- Weekly Chapel experiences
- Weekly debrief and chapel extension activities with the students’ Homeroom/Classroom
- Live Bible instruction
- Biblical worldview integration and unique Christian perspective embedded throughout instruction and learning
- 5th - 8th Grade Students will be invited to participate in our Difference Maker Program
- Participation in missional acts of service
Exemplary Academics
Mariners Remote Learners will be provided rigorous academic instruction through:
- High quality instruction provided by MCS classroom teachers across all subjects: Math, English Language Arts, Science, History, and Bible
- Engagement in dynamic, real time instruction and learning experiences with their teacher and peers in the live classroom
- Participation in classroom discussion and small group activities
- Differentiated instruction provided through small group intervention and enrichment
- Individualized progress monitoring to ensure content mastery and ongoing success
- Additional learning support provided by the class’s remote learning facilitator
- Weekly office hours for personalized learning support
- Review of instruction through access to recordings of live instruction
Whole Child Focus
Mariners Remote Learners will be supported in the development of the whole child through:
- Social emotional learning activities during Homeroom and Morning Meeting
- Christian character development through LIONS’ Pact
- Virtual events throughout the year tailored to the Mariners Remote Learner community
- Weekly virtual enrichment camps provided by our Specialist teachers
- Access to the continually updated MCS Remote Learning Enrichment Board providing a wealth of resources for at-home Art, Maker Design, Gardening, PE, Spanish, Music, and more!

Mariners Remote Learners will build relationships and community through:
- Engagement with the teacher and students in real-time
- Relationship and community building through live classroom experiences
- Participation in daily Homeroom/Morning Meetings
