  • Be able to show evidence of accepting Jesus as his/her personal Savior and be able to articulate a personal relationship with Him, as well as provide evidence of regular church attendance.

  • Be in agreement with and sign the MCS Statement of Faith.

OPEN POSITIONS: 

ATHLETIC DIRECTOR / PE TEACHER: Start date: Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Contract year: Traditional (through mid-June). Job Type: Full-time with benefits. Salary: Commensurate with education and experience. Reports to: Middle School Principal. The Athletic Director is responsible for supervising, supporting, and monitoring the athletics programs at the middle school level. The AD works with coaches and referees to ensure that equipment, safety, and compliance requirements are met. The AD is responsible to ensure that a Christ-honoring environment is maintained by those associated with and who participate in MCS athletics. The Athletic Director will also teach PE classes at the middle school level. Bachelor’s Degree including appropriate coursework required. Master’s in Athletic Administration, preferred. Physical Education Single-subject Credential preferred. Minimum of 2 years experience in a related field.

MIDDLE SCHOOL ENGLISH TEACHER: Start date: Wednesday, August 24, 2022 Contract year:  Traditional (through mid-June) Job Type: Full-time with benefits Salary: Commensurate with education and experience. Mariners Christian School seeks a highly qualified teacher in the area of English Language Arts. This position reports to the Middle School Principal and is seen as a vital role in maintaining a positive, healthy, learning and teaching environment in which students can flourish academically, spiritually, emotionally, and developmentally. Bachelor's degree required. Current teaching credentials in content specific area required. Teaching experience preferred.

ELEMENTARY (K-5) SPED RESOURCE TEACHER: Start date: Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Contract year:  Traditional (through mid-June). Job Type: Full-time with benefits. Salary: Commensurate with education and experience. Reports to: Elementary Principal. The K-5th Special Education Resource Teacher will provide support and specialized individual and small group instruction to meet the academic needs of diverse learners. In addition, this teacher will identify individual needs, develop student educational plans to support success, and monitor student progress toward achieving identified goals. To ensure a successful schoolwide support program, this position collaborates with teachers, administrators, and the Elementary and Middle School Resource staff to support student success within the classroom environment and consult with constituencies for the purpose of ensuring appropriate delivery of learning and support services. Bachelor’s Degree, including appropriate coursework in education required. Master’s preferred. Special Education Credential and Resource Specialist Certificate (or be eligible for an Emergency Credential or waiver). Experience preferred. 

MIDDLE SCHOOL (6-8) SPED RESOURCE TEACHER: Start date: Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Contract year: Traditional (through mid-June). The 6th-8th Special Education Resource Teacher will provide support and specialized individual and small group instruction to meet the academic needs of diverse learners. In addition, this teacher will identify individual needs, develop student educational plans to support success, and monitor student progress toward achieving identified goals. To ensure a successful schoolwide support program, this position collaborates with teachers, administrators, and the Elementary and Middle School Resource Staff to support student success within the classroom environment and consult with constituencies for the purpose of ensuring appropriate delivery of learning and support services. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree, including appropriate coursework in education (Master’s preferred). Special Education Credential and Resource Specialist Certificate (or be eligible for an Emergency Credential or waiver). Experience preferred.

ASP (AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM) AIDE: Start date: August 29, 2022. Hours: M-F; 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. (includes ½ hour unpaid lunch break). Part-time: 27.5 hours per week. Traditional school year: 10-month position (Late August through mid-June). The job of the After School Program Aide is to work with students in grades TK-8 under the supervision of the After School Program Director. After School Program Aides provide supervision and support to students meeting the needs of the whole child by ministering the love of Christ through a spiritually nurturing environment, high-quality care, and homework help. The ASP Aide will plan and facilitate weekly interactive and engaging activities that are fun and beneficial for social, spiritual, and academic development. Requirements: Experience working with children in a group setting is strongly preferred, but not required. Necessary qualities: promptness, reliability, team player, servant heart, positive attitude. 

CLASSROOM AIDE: Start date: August 29, 2022. Full Time: 37.5 hours per week. Hours: M-F; 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 pm. (includes ½ hour unpaid lunch break) Traditional school year: 10-month position (Late August through mid-June). The classroom aide is a support to the teacher in the classroom and to the Outdoor Director on the playground. He/she has classroom responsibilities to better meet the needs of the students in the TK, Kindergarten, and First Grade programs. He/she has specific playground duties designed to promote the safety and well-being of students at all grade levels. He/she has carpool duties that support the ease of traffic flow into and out of the campus; also facilitating the safety of drivers and students. Requirements: Experience working with children in a group setting is preferred, but not required. Necessary qualities: promptness, reliability, team player, servant heart, positive attitude. 

ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS: A substitute teacher is utilized on an "as needed" basis with the understanding that he/she manages the assigned classroom with the goal of fulfilling the lesson plans and directives of the regular teacher. Bachelor’s degree required.
