  • Be in agreement with and sign the MCS Statement of Faith.
  • Have criminal history clearance expressly for MCS. (Fingerprinting to be arranged at hire.)

OPEN POSITIONS:  

ASP (AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM) AIDE: Start date: August 29, 2022. Hours: M-F; 10:00a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (includes ½ hour unpaid lunch break). Full Time: 40 hours per week. Traditional school year: 10-month position (Late August through mid-June). The job of the After School Program Aide is to work with students in grades TK-8 under the supervision of the After School Program Director. After School Program Aides provide supervision and support to students meeting the needs of the whole child by ministering the love of Christ through a spiritually nurturing environment, high-quality care, and homework help. The ASP Aide will plan and facilitate weekly interactive and engaging activities that are fun and beneficial for social, spiritual, and academic development. Requirements: Experience working with children in a group setting is strongly preferred, but not required. Necessary qualities: promptness, reliability, team player, servant heart, positive attitude. 

ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS: A substitute teacher is utilized on an "as needed" basis with the understanding that he/she manages the assigned classroom with the goal of fulfilling the lesson plans and directives of the regular teacher. Bachelor’s degree required. 

CHOIR/THEATRE DIRECTOR: Start date: August 2023. Full Time: 40 hours per week Mon-Fri with benefits. Term 12 month position with 7 weeks off annually, based on school closure calendar and arranged summer vacation. The choir/theatre director will teach 4th-8th vocal music ensembles, run the following elective courses in audio and visual production/theatre stage production and design/musical theatre. In addition, the director must demonstrate an understanding of vocal techniques and music theory, plan and organize music for chapel, concerts, and other events, employ effective classroom management techniques, build and create stages/sets/props/etc, basic skills to operate sound/system/lighting/AV, coordinate and partner with outside vendors for rentals, create choreography and run visual programs for productions, continue to progress the Mariners Academy for Arts. 

HEALTH OFFICE AIDE: Start Date: August 28, 2023. Hours: M-F; 10:00a.m. - 2:00p.m. 20 Hours Per Week (Part-Time). Traditional School Year Term (10 month position; late August through mid-June). Reports directly to the School Nurse. Requirements: Experience is preferred, but not required. The Health Office Aide assists the School Nurse by performing routine health related tasks and clerical services, under the direction of the School Nurse, to aid in the health care needs of students and staff. The applicant must also be willing to receive specialized training for the position including basic first aid and CPR. 

MIDDLE SCHOOL ART TEACHER: Start date: August 23, 2023. Full Time: 40 hours per week Mon-Fri with benefits. Reports directly to the Middle School Principal. The Middle School Art Teacher will teach all middle school grades 6th-8th who have chosen visual arts as an elective. The Middle School Visual Arts classes include: Ceramics I and II, Woodship I and II, Photography, STEM Elective. 

TK-3RD SPANISH TEACHER: Start date: August 23, 2023. Part Time: 20 hours per week Mon-Fri 10:30-2:30. Commensurate salary with education and experience. Reports directly to the Elementary Principal. The Mariners Christian School Elementary Spanish Teacher will instruct elementary students TK-3rd grade in the fundamental Spanish language acquisition and appreciation for Hispanic culture. The duties of the Spanish Teacher include creating lesson plans, preparing classroom activities, organizing teaching materials, collecting informal assessment of student progress to inform instruction, maintaining student records, meeting with teachers and other professionals in the field, and participating in campus events.
