To complete your application, you'll need to submit the following supplemental forms and documents:
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- Copy of Immunization Record
- Copies of previous two report cards (if applicable)
- Copies of two years standardized testing results if applicable (2nd – 8th grade)
- Teacher Questionnaire
- Church Recommendation form
Checklists
Checklists are available in your online admissions account by clicking on your applicant’s name. From the checklist, you'll be able to directly download any needed forms or upload required documents.
For all students applying for 1st-8th grade for the 2021-2022 school year, please review the available dates by scrolling down on this page and contact the admissions office to schedule your preferred date. Assessment sizes will be limited, so please have more than one option available. An admissions application is required in order to schedule an assessment.
If you are applying to TK or Kindergarten, schedule your Chancy and Bruce Developmental Screening appointment with Chancy and Bruce. These screenings are available at many local preschools. If your preschool offers a screening, please feel free to schedule through your preschool. Additionally, Chancy and Bruce offers three screening dates at Mariners Christian School. Your child may be screened here at MCS, at your preschool if it is offered, or at the Chancy and Bruce office in Huntington Beach. A Chancy and Bruce permission form and scheduling information will be available to download in your child’s admissions checklist.
Once we have a complete file (all forms have been submitted, assessment is completed), our admissions office will contact you to schedule your Family Interview with one of our administrators. This is a time for the student and parents to come and meet with one of our administrators. It is a great opportunity for us to get to know you and for you to get to know us!
Applicants for the 2020-2021 school year can expect to have an admissions decision within two business days of their family interview.
Applicants for the 2021-2022 school year will receive their admissions decision on the following dates if they have completed their family interview before that date:
March 5th, 2021
April 16th, 2021
May 21st, 2021
June 25th, 2021
TK / KINDERGARTEN
We utilize the Chancy and Bruce Developmental Assessment to help partner with parents regarding their child’s readiness for Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten. Many local preschools also utilize this screening as part of their late winter program. If your preschool offers the assessment, you are welcome to have your child screened at their preschool. When you complete the forms at the preschool, please indicate you would like a copy of the results sent to Mariners Christian School.
For your convenience, we will also offer three screening dates here at Mariners Christian School. If you wish to schedule your child for one of these dates or have any questions regarding the screening itself, please contact Chancy & Bruce directly at 714.841.1257 or candbappointment@aol.com. Please download the permission form from within your admissions checklist and complete it prior to your appointment, and have your payment ready at your appointment.
Screenings at MCS are scheduled every half hour from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on the following days:
- Tuesday, January 19th, 2021: Chancy and Bruce Screening
- Tuesday, January 26th, 2021: Chancy and Bruce Screening
- Tuesday, February 23rd, 2021: Chancy and Bruce Screening
Additionally, we welcome and strongly encourage you to attend a workshop with Bonnie Bruce via Zoom regarding your child’s results. The workshop will be in the late morning on March 9th, with more information provided closer to the event.
MCS TK and Kindergarten Testing Dates
Elementary & Middle School
Students applying to 1st-8th grades will take an academic assessment with our MCS Teachers. Students are tested in the areas of reading, writing, and math.
Once you have submitted your online application, please contact our admissions team at 714.437.1700, ext. 146 to reserve a testing spot for your child. Assessments on the following dates and times are included in the cost of your application.
