Director of Advancement

General Description:
MCS is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Advancement to lead and oversee the school’s admissions, marketing, communications, fundraising, alumni relations, and events. This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to enhance the school’s visibility, strengthen its financial sustainability, and foster strong relationships with current and prospective families, alumni, and donors.
This position is strategic and visionary in nature with not just a focus on the present, but with a constant view for growth and strengthening of the institution. Therefore, the Director of Advancement efforts continually point to and support MCS’s mission is to “build a firm foundation through Christ-centered education”. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual with proven development experience to grow an already stable development and advancement program.

Substitute Teacher Elementary & Middle SchooL
Start date: Immediately upon completion of hiring procedures
Job Type: Temporary/Seasonal. No benefits will be offered.
Daily Rate: Substitute teachers are paid a daily rate. $160 per day or $80 for 4 hours or less
Reports to: Middle School or Elementary Principal as designated
General Description:
A substitute teacher is utilized on an "as needed" basis with the understanding that he/she manages the assigned classroom with the goal of fulfilling the lesson plans and directives of the regular teacher.

Classroom Aide
Start date: Late August Hours: M-F; 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 pm. (includes ½ hour unpaid lunch break)
Full Time with benefits: 37.5 hours per week Starting pay range per hour: $19.85-$23.40. Commensurate with education and experience
Traditional school year: 10-month position (Late August through mid-June)
Reports to: Classroom Teacher and Outdoor Director
General Description: The classroom aide is a support to the Teacher in the classroom and to the Outdoor Director on the playground.
The aide has classroom responsibilities to better meet the needs of the students in the TK, Kindergarten and First Grade programs. The aide has specific playground duties designed to promote the safety and well-being of students at all grade levels. The aide has carpool duties that support the ease of traffic flow into and out of the campus; also facilitating the safety of drivers and students.

Elementary School Principal
Start date: August 1, 2025
Contract year: 205 Days
Job Type: Full-time with benefits
Salary Range: $100,000-$125,000 (commensurate with experience and education)
Reports to: Head of School
General Description:
Mariners Christian School seeks an Elementary Principal (TK-5th) who demonstrates a successful record of innovative leadership, academic excellence, spiritual leadership, and culture shepherding. The candidate is to be a dynamic Christian leader and educator with administrative experience.
The Administrator is charged with the responsibility and operations of the Elementary School according to the policies and educational goals set forth by the core values, mission, annual goals, and strategic objectives of the school. Strong instructional leadership is required in order to continually provide exemplary academics and improvement across all elementary programs. The Administrator is also responsible for fostering and shepherding a healthy culture, Christ-honoring environment, and vibrant student life, while holding fast to the conviction that Jesus Christ is preeminent in every aspect of the school. This school leader must be dedicated to professional and personal growth in order to encourage the growth of those being led. Likewise, the Administrator is expected to be an active researcher, creative problem solver, and educational innovator.

Elementary and Middle School Girls PE Teacher/ Assistant Athletic Director
Start date: Late August 2025
Contract year: Traditional (end of August through mid-June)
Job Type: Full-time with benefits
Salary Range: $54,324-$70,384. The rate of pay within the specified range may be adjusted at any time by the appointing authority based on the candidates' qualifications, prior experience, education level, etc.
Reports to: Elementary and Middle School Principals 
General Description:
The Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for supporting the Athletic Director in the supervision of the athletics programs at the middle school level. The Assistant works alongside the Director, coaches, and referees to ensure that equipment, safety, and compliance requirements are met. The Assistant is responsible to work alongside the Director to ensure that a Christ-honoring environment is maintained by those associated with and who participate in MCS athletics. In addition, the Assistant AD is responsible for teaching physical education classes at the elementary and middle school levels. The position includes the responsibility of supervisory presence in the girls’ locker room.

ASP Aide
Start date: Late August 2025
Hours: 2:00pm-6:00pm M-F, total of 20 hours per week
Traditional school year: 10-month position (Late August through mid-June)
Starting hourly range commensurate with education and experience: $19.16 - $23.81. The rate of pay within the specified range may be adjusted at any time by the appointing authority based on the candidates' qualifications, prior experience, education level, etc.
Reports to: After School Program Director
General Description:
The job of the After School Program Aide is to work with students in grades TK-8 under the supervision of the After School Program Director. After School Program Aides provide supervision and support to students meeting the needs of the whole child by ministering the love of Christ through a spiritually nurturing environment, high-quality care, and homework help. The ASP Aide will plan and facilitate weekly interactive and engaging activities that are fun and beneficial for social, spiritual, and academic development.

Reports to: Middle School Principal
Position Summary:
The History Teacher is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a robust instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic and spiritual potential. The duties of the History teacher include creating lesson plans, preparing classroom activities, organizing teaching materials, collecting informal assessment of student progress to inform instruction, maintaining student records, meeting with teachers and other professionals in the field, and participating in campus events.

Reports to: Elementary School Principal
Position Summary:
General music teacher will instruct elementary students TK-5th grade in the fundamental principles of music and musicianship skills, such as music theory and basic notation. Ideal lessons will involve a variety of musical responses including singing, moving and playing easily-accessible instruments such as drums, recorders, and hand bells.  The music teacher will direct musical performances throughout the year and work collaboratively with other music instructors to develop a strong musical foundation and understanding for elementary students.  He/She will help recognize musical talent in their students in order to encourage them to undertake further musical studies, such as joining orchestra or band.  The music teacher should be an accomplished musician with a high level of performance proficiency on at least one instrument.
