Transitional Kindergarten
TK at MCS bridges the gap between preschool and Kindergarten. Our hybrid program builds upon the essential foundations of preschool with kindergarten standards to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of our 4 and 5-year-olds. Students in TK are set up for success with a developmentally appropriate educational experience that is tailored to meet their needs. Our faith-based classrooms set the foundation for spiritual growth and nurture the God-given gifts and talents of every child.
Through a balance of academics and play-based learning, this grade level provides children time to build necessary social and emotional development and academic skills that are essential for success in Kindergarten and beyond. In TK, students begin to find a love of learning that will be carried with them throughout their time here at MCS and into the future.
Kindergarten
MCS Kindergarten teachers are committed to providing an atmosphere where students thrive spiritually through the development of a Love for Christ and God’s Word. Excellent academics through a progressive instructional program is designed for each learner. Students are challenged to think creatively, use problem-solving processes, and make connections in meaningful ways.
The goal is to nurture the creative confidence in all students while instilling a passion for learning in their hearts. MCS supports students’ social and emotional growth through intentional conversations, modeling interactions, and coaching students during their exploration and purposeful play centers inside the classroom and during recess times on the playground.
