For over 30 years, Mariners Christian School has partnered with parents to build a firm foundation through Christ-centered education. We are a distinctly Christian school dedicated to the continual pursuit of our core values to foster a deep Love for Christ, provide Exemplary Academics, build Connected Community, and promote a Culture of innovation with a purposeful Focus on the Whole Child. From transitional kindergarten through eighth grade, we desire for our students to thrive in every way as we provide an outstanding education with authentic spiritual development in a Christ-honoring environment.
At MCS we are passionate about discovering and nurturing the unique gifts of each child. Our highly skilled and dedicated faculty is committed to inspiring children to grow in who God has created them to be as they explore their God given gifts and talents, uncover the creativity inside of them, strengthen their ability to think critically and solve problems, and expand the necessary skills of communicating and collaborating with others. Our rigorous and comprehensive programs focus not only on learning but on developing skills, habits, and character that will shape them for a lifetime. Above all else, our entire staff is committed to encouraging students to building an authentic and personal relationship with Jesus Christ and this is our highest calling.
In this ever-changing and challenging world, it is vital that children know God’s truth, understand their identity lies in being a son or daughter of the King, mature in wisdom and knowledge, and grow in confidence in all God created them to be. Within the Mariners Christian School community of administration, faculty, staff, parents, and students are safe to learn and grow as they become difference makers for His kingdom.
I invite you to visit our campus, tour our classrooms, and personally discover the difference that a Mariners education can make in the life of a child.
Interim Head of School
Dear Elementary Families,
I am overjoyed to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year! This year is full of promise and opportunity and we are filled with excitement at being able to partner with you in your child’s education. The start of each school year brings the chance to set new goals and have a fresh start. This school year our theme is Reflect the Son, and a part of our goal-setting will be creating a culture that values and validates Christ-like words and actions that truly Reflect the Son.
Walking like LIONS in our classrooms as well as in our extended community as we build upon our LIONS Pact is some of the work we will expand upon. At MCS we are eager to begin digging deep into God’s Word so that we can fully explore what it means in 2 Corinthians 3:18b when it says, “…the Lord – who is the Spirit – will make us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.” It is a great privilege and an immense responsibility to be raising the next generation of young people to Reflect the Son and it is a true blessing to be partnering with your families as we do so.
The elementary staff is excited to begin this school year. We have been praying together as an elementary team and God has been preparing our hearts to be doing His work this year. We are placing great emphasis on supporting students and ensuring that every student will have exactly what is needed to be successful and to thrive in elementary school. We have hired personnel to support this purpose and faculty training has been designed to equip our team to work together to provide optimal support to the students entrusted to our care this school year.
The elementary team is committed to fostering student growth academically, socially, and spiritually. As we make intentional decisions about our programs and our daily activities we keep the core values of MCS in mind.
It is abundantly clear that God has big plans for this school year. I am praying that you will wholeheartedly embrace the excitement and join us on the journey that God has for us this year. Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” I have been praying, and I am confident that God is ready to keep His promise and do immeasurably more than we could ever imagine.
Reflecting the Son,
The School Board is a dynamic group of volunteers committed to the success of the students, families, and faculty of Mariners Christian School. Their primary responsibilities are to set policy, assist in long-range planning, provide financial and legal oversight, serve as ambassadors for the school, and to hire, support, and evaluate the Head of School.
Board members are committed Christians who typically have experience in leadership and/or management, or prior leadership on non-profit boards. Members are carefully selected through a self-perpetuation process, and they reflect a balance in church affiliation, gender, age of children, home city, and professional background.
Please feel free to contact the MCS Board at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to hearing from you.
